Though it might be hard to envision spring in the midst of this blizzard, Nike’s latest set of cherry blossom-inspired sneakers will give you hope for a warmer, more beautiful tomorrow.
From late March to mid-April, Japan’s iconic cherry blossoms captivate viewers with their soft, pink splendor. During this season Japan partakes in hanami (花見), the tradition of viewing the transient beauty of flowers while eating, drinking, and barbecuing in their wake. In honor of hanami, Nike has released a new cherry blossom pack featuring gorgeous bright pink and blue hues and clean white bases. So far, we know that this exclusive aesthetic will be coming to three classic silhouettes: the Nike Roshe One, the Nike Toki, and the Nike Cortez.
The Roshe is the most committed to the cherry blossom aesthetic, fully showcasing the lifelike graphic and almost eliminating the Swoosh branding on the side panel altogether.
Contrary to other news, a sneaker boutique insider has revealed to me that the Nike Cherry Blossom pack has not been released yet. But don’t fret, they are tentatively slated for release on February 18, 2016. Be sure to mark your calendars and check out nike.com or your local sneaker boutique for updates.
